Due to the continuously increasing amount of talented web designers, it seems to become more and more difficult to create a website which is truly unique and one that stands out from the crowd in a certain way.

One succeeded example definitely is the third revision of the portfolio website of creative professional Maximilian Bartel also known as indiqo.media which combines an appealing and creative visual concept with clean and accessible source code in a seriously remarkable manner. Influenced by various different styles, personal preferences and the intention to create something fresh and innovative, the design itself is an approach to reflect the taste and personality of the designer rather than an attempt to please everybody.

In my personal opinion (as both a programmer, and designer), I find that it is pretty “straightforward” and easier to code a website, rather than design it. While a programmer can sit down with a list of instructions and tasks.. and well.. code it, a designer has to actually think of the design and create it accordingly. You can sit for hours on end just thinking of where to start. Over the past few years we’ve collected a list of bookmarks that can certainly decrease the time involved with planning your design by sparking a few creative ideas. Check out a few of these site’s and you’ll be surprised how fast that “inspiration” kicks in.
